Nike Celebrates World Cup With Hall of Phenomenal
Nothing brings people together like sports, and no one takes sports to the next level like Nike. While World Cup has taken over the world, Nike Soccer has created an experience for football fans here in New York called the Hall of Phenomenal. Located at 550 Washington Street, this space is amazing. Visitors are treated with an opportunity to view and field test Nike’s latest soccer cleats, the Magista and the Mercurial Superfly. One experience lets you run down the pitch, address the ball and try to score a goal. While you’re attempting to score, all your movements are captured on video. You can share that video on social media. Another experience tests your dribbling ability. You’re placed in an octagon and tasked to kick the ball at the video board that lights up. There’s an area where you can get jerseys, t-shirts and socks customized. Teams are playing 4-on-4 matches throughout the day, and a DJ is on hand to energize the crowd.
Nike really has raised the bar with their experiential and interactive events. That could not have been more evident on Sunday watching Team USA play Portugal. Fans of both teams watched the match on large monitors set up in the space. The energy and excitement generated when Team USA scored their second goal to take a 2-1 lead was incredible. I was lucky to capture this moment on video:
Thursday is the last day the space will be open. With the big Germany vs. USA match taking place on Thursday, I suggest taking a long lunch and watching it at the Nike Hall of Phenomenal.
